SDS offers the BD-Power 1032160 Steering Upgrade Kit that will enhance the drivability of your 2001-2010 GM Silverado/Sierra 1500/2500HD/3500HD. A major weak point on GM HD series trucks is the steering linkage and tie rods with high torque engines, lift kits, and larger tires putting greater stresses on the steering system than what the factory intended. These failures can lead to loose steering, front wheels toe-in under load while in four-wheel drive, and broken tie rods. If you have performance upgrades in your truck, lifted it, or do heavy towing, you will want to upgrade your steering kit before doing catastrophic damage to the front end!

This BD-Power Steering Upgrade Kit includes a centerlink, (2) tie-rods, (2) sway bar end links, a 3-spline pitman arm, and an idler arm. The forged I-Beam Centerlink is 30% stronger than the factory unit, reducing flex in the steering system and creating a strong base for the tie rods to be bolted to. The tie rods are 1.5 times thicker than stock units for reduced flex and have larger inner ball joints for reduced wear. Testing has shown that BD tie rods can take over double the amount of force that stock rods can handle. The Ball joints in this kit come with sintered bearings and allow for better load holding and increased service life. Longer, high-strength sway bar end links that have a through-bolt design are included to accommodate larger tie rods and leveling kits. Polyurethane bushings have factory-style shaping for great articulation and durability. All Ball joints, the pitman, and the idler arm are greaseable.

The BD-Power Steering Upgrade Kit retains OEM geometry for accurate steering and will allow for any factory replacement parts to drop in without any geometry misalignment or modification required. Other aftermarket upgrade kit designs change the steering geometry which can sacrifice safety and drivability for straight-line strength while pulling or racing. This can also create a hazardous "bump steer' where the vehicle becomes uncontrollable on uneven highways or trails. By not altering the steering geometry, the BD upgrade kit saves you from these issues.
